Over the Christmas / New year period, I made a small commitment to myself to get butt into gear and showcase my work. Mainly because I think in a digital world that’s feeding the beast within, I think it’s good to not only look at Facebook or Instagram but be reminded of a couple’s story.
So even though it’s been a little while since I’ve blogged, I wanted to dust off the pen and paper and tell you about the amazing couples that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.
Let’s talk about Karisha + Daniel.
Their wedding was a day that was filled with so much EPIC. Indo’s and Filo’s know how to bring their game on and have a great time doing it.
There wedding was at a lovely church in the inner Sydney City of Leichhardt. During the ceremony, it was beautiful to witness the fusion of cultures. Daniel is the sort of guy that is other person-centered and wanted to make sure that everything went absolutely perfect for everyone.
It was great to see him embrace his ‘Filo’ culture and where the barong. During their vows, he started crying and laughing at the same time when telling Karisha how he felt. I guess it just revealed his genuinely warm-hearted character, but also the ability to have a laugh. 🙂
Karisha is a marketing major with a family full of talent. They have style, charisma and the entire family has a smile that is contagious. When I arrived at her place in the morning the music was beating and the bubbles were flowing. It was great to see a few familiar faces in the bridal party and have a great time.
Just quietly, I am a big fan for the D.I.Y approach. It’s a HECK of a lot of work, but I think there’s a sense of satisfaction and reward. There’s also the ability to be a little flexible with the little details. For Karisha and Daniel, they wanted to have elements that represented their cultures and it was executed without flaw. They had their reception over at the Sydney Dance Studio in Lilyfield with catering and traditional dancers. I sort of feeling at home, in Asia. 🙂
Karisha + Daniel, thank you for the opportunity to capture your wedding day. Ken and I had the greatest time and we hope that you cherish the images as much as we do.

Planning a wedding and you’re on the hunt for ideas?
Looking for a photographer?
Wanting to just talk about weddings ?
I’d love to speak with you. No HARD sales (you know the type) just a great conversation over a meal and sussing out all things weddings. Don’t forget the Photographers and Videographers are the ones who are pretty much there from when you brush your teeth to just before you’re ordering room service, so we know a thing or two. 🙂
